Winter Visitor Program

FARM SMART tours offer a unique experience covering agriculture in Imperial Valley.  The tours take place in January and February and showcase research being done at UC Desert Research and Extension Center.  Tours include pick-your-own fresh produce, prizes, and ice cream! Please note the tours are CASH ONLY, no credit cards or checks (prices above). Coffee and popcorn are provided during registration. Please bring cash and be aware that your shoes may get muddy! Small sturdy pocket knives are allowed for extra assistance in the field.  FARM SMART staff will have harvesting knives and will be able to assist you.  Be ready to sign a liability waiver and BE READY TO HAVE FUN!!!

Directions:

From East/West: Travel on I-8 to Exit 120 (Bowker Road). Turn north and travel 2 miles to Evan Hewes Hwy. Turn right (east) and go 1.5 miles to Meloland Road. Turn left (north). You'll see our marquee and a large blue welcome flag. On Holton Road, parking will be on your left (north side)

 From North: Travel on 86S toward Brawley/El Centro. Turn left on CA-78. Continue onto CA-111 South. Turn left (east) on E. Evan Hewes and travel for 3 miles to  Meloland Road.  Turn left (north) and take the first crossroad (Holton Rd). You'll see our marquee and a large blue welcome flag. On Holton Road, parking will be on your left (north side)
